Have you ever wondered how websites rank in Google for a specific keyword? If so, the process is called search engine optimization and it is used to help companies, organizations, and businesses get visitors to their website. SEO is not only for the Google search engine, as there are other search engines on the market as well. Facebook, Amazon, Bing, Duck Duck Go are other search engines people use as well. Google just happens to be the most popular.
My daily life as a Chicago SEO consultant is to help businesses get more traffic to their website. I do this by optimizing their website for the keywords their customers are typing into search engines. There are basically two ways of getting better rankings which are: On-Page and Off-Page optimizations.
On-Page SEO
One of the simplest ways to increasing your website’s performance is good old fashioned on-page SEO. On-page search engine optimization is the process of optimizing title tags, meta tags, header tags, and adding primary and secondary keywords to the page. This process will also clean up site errors like canonical or 404 pages.
Off-Page SEO
A good off page seo campaign will help you crush your competition. SEO is somewhat like a voting system and whoever has the best links going to them wins, at least most of the time. There are other factors that go into this such as the quality of the domains linking back to your website. Creating sharable content is going to be the best way to get links back to your website. You can do this by starting a blog, providing great service, are starting a YouTube channel.
SEO is not that difficult to understand but it can take some time to learn everything. There are many great courses online by Ahrefs and SEMRush, which go into great detail. I have taken courses at both academies and think they are very useful in gaining better insight into SEO.
